Diogo Netto has broad patent and design experience that includes drafting, pre and post-grant proceedings, and he also participates in client and pre-litigation counseling. His experience includes drafting and processing applications and portfolios in biotechnology, chemistry, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and medical devices. He also prepares validity, enforceability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement opinions.
His scientific background is in bioinformatics, genetics, micro and molecular biology, gained during his undergraduate in Biology and a Master’s degree at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing. Before joining Daniel Law in 2012, he gained significant research and development experience in the abovementioned areas at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). Since 2008 he has worked as a patent agent in Brazil and is authorized as a professional representative before the Brazilian PTO. He is also currently a member of the Patent and Industrial Design Working Group at the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property Agents (ABAPI), where he is a Professor of the intermediate patent course.
