Karoline is bioprocess engineer, with specialization in Intellectual Property, and has a master’s degree in chemical and biochemical processes. She has almost 10 year of experience in Technology forecasting and Intellectual Property, having worked as technology consultant, innovation agent and patent specialist. Karoline joined Daniel Law as patent specialist in 2020.
Karoline’s scientific background includes research projects related to computational model for predicting gas flow in biomass combustion and consultancy for technology breakthroughs such as biobased products, smart paints and use of enzymes in textile processing.
In Industrial Property, she has previous experience in Technology Transfer Office (TTO), working closely with scientists on patentability strategies and patent drafting. At Daniel Law, she works on all aspects related to the prosecution of patent applications before the Brazilian PTO, as well as identifying patent portfolios and predicting the loss of exclusivity in Brazil for synthetic and biological drugs.
