OUR WORK WITH SEP
The growing significance of interoperability and standardization has led to a rise in litigation involving Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) and FRAND-related disputes. The significant increase of SEP applications and litigation in Brazil confirms the country’s importance for some of the world’s largest players in the ICT space. It also highlights its courts’ role in the context of multijurisdictional disputes.
With a top-tier practice in high-tech patent litigation and prosecution, and over twenty yeas of experience handling SEP matters, Daniel is uniquely positioned to advise both patent holders and implementers. Our team is well-versed in a wide range of standards, and our litigators have deep expertise in the specific challenges that arise in SEP disputes. We are also well-equipped to address any related competition law issues that may emerge.
We have developed a unique tool that offers a snapshot of interesting decisions issued by Brazilian courts in the SEP space, while also allowing users to monitor new court filings and submissions.
Although we’ve made every effort to identify all relevant cases, some SEP disputes remain under seal. As a result, the list may not be entirely comprehensive.
