Renata has more than a decade of experience as an employee at the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI-Br), where she worked in the Presidency and in the International Relations Division. Furthermore, she has a Masters Degree in the field from the Economics Institute (IE) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a post-graduate degree in Intellectual Property Law from PUC-Rio and has several published papers on intellectual property.

Masters on Public Policy, Strategy and Development, on the research field Innovation, Strategy and Development (IPID), from the Economics Institute (IE), of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in 2017, with the dissertation “Sham Litigation in the Pharmaceutical Industry: Analysis of INPI, CADE and the Judiciary considering the patent application for “gemcitabine hydrochloride””.

Post-Graduate Degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), in 2013, with the dissertation “Checks and Balances: Pharmaceutical laboratories, generic medicines and the sole paragraph of Article 40 of the Brazilian Industrial Property Law (Law nº 9.279/1996)”.
