Diogo Netto has a broad patent and design experience that includes drafting, pre and post-grant proceedings and he also participates in client and pre-litigation counseling. His experience includes drafting and processing applications and portfolios in the areas of biotechnology, chemistry, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics and medical devices. He also prepares validity, enforceability, freedom-to-operate and infringement opinions.
His scientific background is in bioinformatics, genetics, micro- and molecular-biology, gained during his studies as an undergraduate in Biology and for a Master’s degree at the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing. Prior to joining Daniel Law in 2012, he gained significant research and development experience in the above-mentioned areas at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). Since 2008 he has worked as a patent agent in Brazil and is authorized as a professional representative before the Brazilian PTO. He is also currently a member of the Patent and Industrial Design Working Group at the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property Agents.
