The Protection Of Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Inventions: New Brazilian PTO Guidelines

The accelerated advancement of Artifi cial Intelligence (AI) has brought about a signifi cant transformation in the way inventions are conceived. In response to this scenario, on August 18, 2025, the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI – Brazilian PTO) published Public Consultation No. 03/2025, submitting to society a draft of the Guidelines for the Examination of Patent Applications Related to Artifi cial Intelligence.
