Anvisa has published Public Consultations No. 1,357/2025 and 1,358/2025, launching a comprehensive review of Brazil’s nutrition labeling regulation, a major development for the food, beverage, and supplements industries.
The proposal introduces a new RDC that restructures and modernizes existing rules, aligns Brazil’s framework with Mercosur standards, and updates how nutritional information must be presented to consumers.
- Updated Nutrition Facts Panel structure
- Expansion of mandatory nutrient declarations, including added sugars and detailed fat profiles
- Adjustments to front-of-pack nutrition labeling
- Consolidation of rules on nutrition and content claims
- Specific provisions for supplements, special-purpose foods, alcoholic beverages, and products requiring preparation
These changes are expected to significantly impact companies’ compliance workflows, including label redesign, technical dossiers, nutritional calculations, import processes, and regulatory risk assessments. Businesses will need to reassess product portfolios, existing labeling strategies, and communication claims.
Stakeholders may submit comments to Anvisa from November 10th, 2025, until March 9th, 2026, starting seven days after publication in the Official Gazette.
We are closely monitoring this regulatory process and am available to support companies in assessing potential impacts, preparing technical submissions, and planning compliance with the upcoming requirements.
