Larissa Chen Yi Qian is an attorney specializing in privacy, data protection, and technology regulation, with international experience focused on intersections between Brazil and China. A PhD candidate and Master of Laws in Chinese Law at Tsinghua University (Beijing), one of Asia’s most renowned law schools, Larissa conducts research on data governance, cybersecurity, and Chinese regulatory policy, with an emphasis on impacts for companies and governments.
Before joining Daniel, she was part of FGV’s CyberBRICS Project, where she analyzed China’s regulatory ecosystem and contributed to legal reports, academic studies, and drafts of government regulations related to technology and data protection. She also gained experience at law firms in Brazil, advising companies — including big techs, logistics firms, and airlines — on implementing compliance programs, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.
Larissa has also served as a Teaching Assistant at Schwarzman College in Beijing, and has experience in the banking sector and at the Federal Prosecution Service (MPF), strengthening her multidisciplinary perspective across public, private, and international law. She is the author and co-author of publications on Chinese law, data protection, and cybersecurity.
Fluent in Mandarin, Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Larissa combines practical experience, strong academic training, and intercultural expertise to support clients facing complex challenges involving technology and intellectual property across multiple jurisdictions.
