Denis Daniel was a founding partner of the firm Daniel & Cia., currently Daniel Advogados, and worked for over 50 years in the area of Intellectual Property. His field of activity covered all areas of Intellectual Property and over the years he has established a solid reputation in the Brazilian and international markets. Denis was born in Rio de Janeiro, graduated in law from Universidade Federal Fluminense and was admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association in 1959.
Denis served as a member of the Brazilian Lawyers Institute (IAB); the International Trademark Association (INTA); the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI); the Licensing Executives Society (LES); the Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI); the International League of Competition Law (LIDC); the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents (ABAPI); the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI); and the São Paulo Intellectual Property Association (ASPI). Furthermore, he was president of the Legal Committee of the British Chamber of Rio de Janeiro for seven years, having received the title of honorary advisor to the association. Denis has had more than 50 articles published on industrial property, technology transfer and copyright.
