With the coronavirus pandemic devastating the global economy, many companies have reduced their daily operations or part of them, declared temporary closures, or permanently shut down their doors.

However, at the same time, new companies are showing up and considering whether now might be the perfect time to expand their brand on an international level.

That is the case of most of the Startups!!

Having this in mind, startups should consider using the Madrid Protocol to expand their brands on an international level because it provides a fast, efficient, and cost-effective way to obtain trademark registrations in foreign countries, mainly for companies with tight budgets.

Taking advantage of the Madrid Protocol for international trademark registration allows companies to continue innovating and expanding while their competitors struggle.

Brazil has now completed its first year of adherence to the Madrid Protocol and, together with it, positive and high impacts are already able to happen with all of the innovative companies.

It is important to be updated about all procedures allowed in Brazil as well as of the changes implemented in the BPTO´s online system to make sure all legal requirements are met. Making good use of the existing regulations of the Madrid System is key to make the most of the international system and of the benefits that come with it.

Daniel Law is ready to stay together with companies, including the ones in the innovation area, helping them to use the Madrid Protocol and getting from it all their advantages.
